Biography:
Monica Maria Ramirez born in Mexico City and raised in Veracruz . Her first experience, in to the art world was when she was in the womb of her mother, how was her first art teacher.
Veracruz was very influential for her work , because she was surrounded by nature and old custums, of Mexican traditions. She saw life in expressions of love and she began to express it , on canvas at the age of six . She start exhibiting at thirteen years old.
She paints in different medias such as acrylics, oils, oil with tempera, pencil, pastel, etc. One of the things that distinguish her work is her textures, she use gold, copper, silver liaf, coffee grain, wood, or what ever she feels, will give volume to the art piece.
She tends to paint figurative abstracts that encapsulate the human form with personified emotions through visual contexts.
Monica is fascinated by the personal human experience and her ability to transcend those emotions to canvas, this becomes her all encompassing mission with her artwork.
She is been exhibiting in Veracruz, Mexico, Reynosa as traveling art exhibit for Tamaulipas, McAllen, Brownsville, San Antonio and Austin. In places like Museums, Art Galleries , Cultural Centers , Conventions, Shows, Cinemas, Restaurants & Coffee Shops.
She had several rave reviews from different news organizations, such as Monitor, Festiva, Mesquite Review, M Magazine, The Town Crier, Televisa, KGBT Channel 4, Telemundo 40.
She intends to paint as long as she can hold a brush and hopes to have her work shown in galleries all around the world.
