Dennis Gilpatrick
Artist Statement:

Biography:
Dennis Gilpatrick was born in McAllen, Texas in 1949. Upon graduation from McAllen High School in 1967 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After a tour of duty, which included Vietnam, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the Black Sea, and the Arctic Circle, he lived in New York, Miami, Dallas, and other major cities in the U.S.
Although the large cities of the United States were interesting, it seemed that they all had very unpleasant weather. Therefore, in order to find peace and quiet, and most of all "Sunshine" he returned to the Rio Grande Valley, his hometown. Here, he made his living as an electrician for almost twenty years.
In 1996, he turned to art full-time, since artistic expression had always been a great interest in his life the change was like a homecoming. Subsequent endeavors in art and its related fields have been mostly organized art shows arranged one-man shows for others, exhibited work at various places throughout the area, and served as an officer in the Upper Valley Art League.
